The Everett Jewelers story

According to Everett Jewelers owner Rick Everett, a true creative spirit can find expression in many forms, not just one. Everett is a musician and vocalist with a lifelong love for performing. During the 1970s he expressed his talent for music through performing in regional pubs and bars along the Jersey Shore. And like many opportunities that happen it life—it was a matter of being at the right place at the right time, when a friend suggested Rick might be interested in taking his position at a jewelry store since he was moving on. In that new experience Rick discovered that artistic satisfaction comes in myriad forms. “I found that creating jewelry was every bit as satisfying as making music,” he says.

Clarksville JamDuring this time, he discovered he also had a knack for learning what customers wanted when they came in for custom jewelry. He used his time well under the mentorship of a Russian master jeweler, where he honed the artistic skills to become a skillful custom jeweler himself. It didn’t take Rick long to realize he enjoyed the customers just a much as the exclusive items he was creating for them.

By the 1980s another jewelry retailer he was working for asked him to move to Maryland and open stores there. Soon it became a family affair as Rick’s father offered to collaborate with him in opening Everett & Sons Fine Jewelry in Columbia, MD.

We know what goes around comes around—and it wasn’t too many years before Rick and his Russian mentor jeweler reunited professionally to offer the finest custom made jewelry in Howard County, MD.
