Meteorite Ring

Item No. 712

This meteorite wedding band designed by Rick Everett is made to order. The band shown is 6mm wide with a 4mm wide meteorite from the Gibeon field in Nambia. Gibeon meteorites are composed of an iron-nickle alloy containing significant amounts of cobalt and phosphorus. The crystal structure of this meteorite provides a classic example of fine octahedrite and the Widmanstatten pattern. (This pattern is the crystalization that is caused by the meteorite cooling over billions of years while traveling through space.) This wedding band framed the meteorite in 18kt yellow gold. These can be ordered in other colors of gold, as well as platinum.
